A TAK server in five minutes
Order a server in your browser or on your phone. Five minutes later it has its own address and is waiting for your people. No hardware to buy, nothing exposed on your home connection, no evening lost to settings.
Phone app
taklab-hub gets your phone ready for ATAK. It installs ATAK and its plugins, downloads maps, orders a server and hands out access to your group. It is also where you start the free trial server.
The app is in closed testing on Google Play for now. Write to kontakt@taklab.eu and we will add you to the testers.
Who this is for
You set up a TAK server in a few clicks — certificates, a voice channel and live video from phones and cameras included. You prepare the exercise; we look after the server.
- ATAK instructors. Every group gets a server of its own.
- Exercise organisers. The server runs for the weekend and shuts itself down on Monday.
- Units that want to check their comms before going out into the field.
- Reenactment groups, shooting clubs and rescue teams without an IT person of their own.
From the order to the map
Order a server
Give it a name, pick the size and the extras: voice, video, a map in the browser. About five minutes later the server is up. It runs until the deadline shown in your account.
Hand out access
A participant scans a QR code with their phone. ATAK fills in the server address and fetches the certificate by itself, so nobody types settings in by hand.
Work on one shared map
From the first minute you see each other's positions, markers and messages. When the deadline passes, we shut the server down. The data is deleted at a second, later deadline — you see both in your account.
What you get
The server is yours alone. It has its own certificates and cannot see other customers' servers. You choose the extras when you order.
- A shared map: participant positions, markers and chat.
- Shared files and overlays. A plan uploaded once reaches everyone connected.
- A voice channel. The echo channel plays your voice back, so you can test your microphone alone.
- Live video from a phone or a camera, watched inside ATAK.
- A page where participants create their own accounts.
- The same map in a browser (CloudTAK) for people who stay at a desk.
Try it yourself
Create an account and start a trial server in the phone app. It runs free for 60 minutes, with no card details. You can start another one a day later.
